About the Guest

Born in Mumbai, India Owner of "Mayaspottery" . She is an enthusiastic potter, whose work is inspired by elements of nature and who loves to create magical illusions with clay. Even as a child she knew there is always something special about the oneness of working with your hands. Her love for pottery, sculpting and jewelry, both silver, and ceramic bought her to the perfect medium of clay. She has worked as an apprentice to the award-winning Ceramic designer Homa Farley from 2009 to 2015. She has been a resident artist at Yadawei fine art Ceramic studio 2016. During this time she has been involved in various projects with Table 9 Hilton Creek, Coya Four seasons Dubai, Ethihad airways and 2016 Zuma Dubai.
WORKSHOP DETAILS
The aim of this workshop is to make a pot and design the pot using textures and coils. Participants will be able to work independently on the project assigned .
During this session we will cover the pinch and coil technique in pottery. We will start with a short demo followed by instructions to work on the project.
These 2 techniques are the handbuilding technique in pottery.
We will also share instructions on how to stick two things with clay and also use textures to design the work

Small pc of wood or cloth
